I change my mind...

...and I can do that, because this little space is all mine.

As I sit here, doing my homework in my bed next to my open window, the rain plays me the most beautiful song as it hits the ground. And mmm, the smell of the rain coming into my window. So good.  Not to mention the nicest, calmest breeze blowing into the room.

And so because of this, I change my mind.  I think, no I KNOW, I love Autumn more than Spring.  Last Spring tried to trick me and steal my heart, but these past few days have reminded me that my heart remains with September, October, and November.

The weather is slowly (or rather this past week, quickly) getting cooler, calling for jeans and turtle necks and tights and scarves and boots and coats.  Yes, I love this season.

Yes, it's sad that the trees lose their leaves and the world prepares to turn brown for December through March, but gees oh pete, the process! Leaves turning yellow, and red, and orange. And then falling to the ground to make a new song composed by our stomping feet and the crunching of the leaves.  And don't even get me started on the food! I love Autumn's food! Also, my birthday may or may not make an appearance in November. Yes Autumn, YOU are my favorite!

My confession: I lied earlier, and I apologize.  Because my heart always has and always will belong to Autumn. I cannot wait for these next few months!

my favorite weed

Growing up, I always thought that autumn was my favorite season.  Something about the food, the holidays, the weather, the leaves, the clothes (when it's finally acceptable to wear turtle necks and tights!) that made me fall in love with autumn every time it came around.  I love carving pumping and baking on Thanksgiving (err, watching my mom and brother bake).  I guess I haven't really ever given much thought to any other season...until this year.

The spring of 2013 may have had a fashionably late entry, but boy, am I in love.  I am loving these flowers, the breezy weather, the smells, the animals that are finally out and about!  The idea of new life finally coming to.  I love the idea of all these plants coming back to life after a dead winter.  It reminds me of the rebirth we get through Jesus Christ; when we die to ourselves, we are reborn through Christ! I can see God's beautiful artistry in every creature, every flower, every tree, even the sunshine.  I love to praise God through nature, and this season is making it so easy to with its pure breathtaking beauty.

I feel like every time I am out I stop and take a picture of some tree or flower that I hadn't recognized last semester.  Not to mention, something about those beautiful dandelions are making me stop to pick them all up!  I mean, seriously, they have got to the be the happiest weed out there!

Yesterday I got to spend a little bit of time outside with Kalen enjoying this weather.  And mmm, I cannot wait to continue to soak it all up!  Can you just feel my love for this season oozing out of your computer screen? I love it, I love it, I love it!

My confession: I may have a new favorite season...spring!
