Five Things

The ever-so-lovely Miss Kalen tagged me in her post to write five things about myself which you may or may not know. So here we go...

1. I may have been a synchronized swimmer for half my childhood, but I am absolutely terrified of swimming in the ocean, lakes, and/or ponds.  Something about swimming in murky water where you can't see the creatures swimming around you. ahh, I get chills just thinking about it.

2. My all-time favorite animal, hands down, is the chicken.  Please don't ask me why, I couldn't tell you. But I love them (no, not to eat them).

3. I've struggled with anxiety a majority of my life.  My biggest fear in life is being kidnapped and for most of my life it has consumed my every thought and move.

4. I am a huge day-dreamer.  I have a very vivid imagination and even more vivid dreams each night.

5. I love, love, love taking in new atmospheres and cultures.  I soak it up. My dream vacation would be to go to India just to be immersed in their culture.

My confession: This took way longer to think of five things to come up with, but I enjoyed the challenge! Thanks, Kalen!

my favorite weed

Growing up, I always thought that autumn was my favorite season.  Something about the food, the holidays, the weather, the leaves, the clothes (when it's finally acceptable to wear turtle necks and tights!) that made me fall in love with autumn every time it came around.  I love carving pumping and baking on Thanksgiving (err, watching my mom and brother bake).  I guess I haven't really ever given much thought to any other season...until this year.

The spring of 2013 may have had a fashionably late entry, but boy, am I in love.  I am loving these flowers, the breezy weather, the smells, the animals that are finally out and about!  The idea of new life finally coming to.  I love the idea of all these plants coming back to life after a dead winter.  It reminds me of the rebirth we get through Jesus Christ; when we die to ourselves, we are reborn through Christ! I can see God's beautiful artistry in every creature, every flower, every tree, even the sunshine.  I love to praise God through nature, and this season is making it so easy to with its pure breathtaking beauty.

I feel like every time I am out I stop and take a picture of some tree or flower that I hadn't recognized last semester.  Not to mention, something about those beautiful dandelions are making me stop to pick them all up!  I mean, seriously, they have got to the be the happiest weed out there!

Yesterday I got to spend a little bit of time outside with Kalen enjoying this weather.  And mmm, I cannot wait to continue to soak it all up!  Can you just feel my love for this season oozing out of your computer screen? I love it, I love it, I love it!

My confession: I may have a new favorite season...spring!
