Lately.

Lately my life has left very little

time for this lonely space on the Internet.

Lately my heart has been warmed with 

spending time with some of my 

very favorite human beings on campus.

Lately I've found the butterflies

keep multiplying and my heart keeps soaring.

Lately God has been showing me the 

intentionality it takes to stay in 

relationship with Him.

lately I've been trying to wrap my

 head around the idea that I am

 officially half way done with college.

lately God has been showing Himself

to me in the coolest ways.  I love it

when He catches me by surprise and 

reminds me of just how purely good He is.

lately I've found my heart fluttering non-

stop as I feel like I'm floating on cloud 9.

it's a funny, sensational feeling. I like it.

lately I've been trying to prepare myself

for my five weeks in Uganda.  I have no idea

what to expect or how to even begin to 

prepare myself for such an experience.

Lately I've been feeling

a need for change, so 8 inches of hair

were exiled from my head today.

Lately I've been trying to journal

every night, and let me tell you,

releasing my thoughts onto a page

really help quiet my mind before bed.

Lately I've started really, truly giving 

things to God.  And it has made my life so 

much more peaceful and less stressful.

Lately I've been falling even more so in love

with my major and the idea that I get to spend

four whole years studying humanities.

Lately, the weather has been

geesh, did we even get a fall?

Lately,  I've been listening to 

Christmas music. I know we still

have to get throughout Thanksgiving, 

but with this weather, how can you not?

Lately, I feel like I've gotten stronger

in my faith through more intentional

prayer and time with God.

Lately, I feel an odd sense of peace

with not knowing what the future 

may hold.  Let's hope it stays.

Lately I have been swamped with

 homework; thus, the quietness on this blog.

Lately I'm finding it harder to work

towards my major when I still  have no more

direction on what I want to do in life.

Lately, my friends have been 

the best medicine for life.  Whether it be

to complain about a class or to take a break

from my homework, they're there.

Lately, I've been trying to really trust God

with my future. And holy cow, it's so hard.

Lately, we have been loving getting

to know Mister Benson's personality

as he becomes more and more comfortable

being apart of our famjam.

Lately, I've had a hard time

finding inspiring things to blog about.

I'm learning to be okay with long chunks 

of time in-between posts, though.

Lately,  I've loved eating the vegetables

Dad has been growing for us--especially

the lettuce.  Mmm, there is something

so good about truly organic food.

Lately, I've been trying to be more

intentional about praying for something

right when I'm asked to pray, rather than

waiting until bed (when I usually forget

the prayer request).

Lately, I've been missing friends

who don't live around here and I have been 

meeting up with those who do.

Lately, I've read quite 

a few books.  It is one of my favorite

things to get lost in a book and become

invested in those characters' lives.

Lately,  I've been questioning what 

I want to do with my life, specifically for a

career.  It makes me anxious not

knowing what the future holds for me.

Lately, I have loved deepening my 

relationship with my brother. He sure is

one special dude, and I love him quite a bit.

Lately, I've been missing our Sadie

girl, who passed away two weeks ago.

Lately, I've enjoyed being home

with my family.  Mmm, how I have missed

home cooked meals and my own bed.

I want to do with my life, and what direction

I see God taking me in the future.

Lately, I've started a new job at an ice cream

place.  It can get a little bit stressful at times,

but I love it and am excited to work there.

Lately, I've been falling in love with

 spring and all the blooming 

flowers it's brought with it.  Not to 

mention the lovely smell of new life.

Lately I've been getting

really excited for my upcoming trip 

to the Dominican Republic. I can't wait to

see how God uses me when I'm there.

Lately, I've been crushing on a boy and 

it's making it hard to study for these 

dreaded finals I have this week.

Lately, I've enjoyed making lots

of new friends.  I'm starting to get sad, though,

that I won't see them for three months

during (the much needed) summer break.

Lately, I've felt as if

I am taking classes for a major

that is going to set me up for failure.

How in the world am I possibly going

to support myself with an English degree?

Lately, I've felt as if

God has been hollering my name,

begging for me to turn back towards

Him; to stop turning to myself,

and instead, to lean on Him.

Lately, I've been truly happy.

I've been so blessed this semester

with friends who know and 

love me, for me.

Lately. 

Lately, I've started journaling

to release all those millions

of thoughts that are constantly

controlling my mind.
