about time

My parents have had a Canon Rebel camera now for many years, used mostly for soccer games and parties.  None of us have ever really taken a class on how to "really" use it or learned all the ins and outs of it.  It's a really nice camera and I know it does all sorts of things that we could only ever imagine.

I really want to teach myself some of those cool things that it does, especially after reading this post from one of my favorite blogs.  I really believe that pictures can speak a thousand words and really capture a moment.  The other day I sat down and watched a couple YouTube videos on how to shoot in manual.  Uhh, new favorite setting to shoot in.  The pictures turned out really cool, and I'm excited to see what else the camera does (if M&D give me permission to continue to play with the camera...).

Aww. My best friend of over 12 years holding a picture of us during our first year of both being synchronized swimmers (SO glad those awkward stages are over. Can I get a "hallelujah"?).

why yes, that is our black cat in the background.

My confession: One of my goals for the summer is to learn more of the ins and outs of my parents' camera, because one day, I would absolutely love to own one just like it!
